Certified Appraiser – Assessor’s Office

Laurens County Human Resources is accepting applications for a full-time Certified Appraiser for the Laurens County Assessor’s office. The individual selected for this position, under occasional supervision, performs routine to moderately complex appraisal work for the Laurens County Assessor’s Office. Work involves collecting and analyzing data; performing technical valuation work in the appraisal of real property for tax assessment purposes; preparing required reports and records, and performing other functions as assigned. Reports to the Assessor and Deputy Assessor.


Requirements: Requires an associate degree, vocational technical degree or specialized training that is equivalent to satisfactory completion of two years of college education with emphasis in business, real estate or closely related field; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities. Must possess South Carolina certification as a residential appraiser. Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
