EMS – Lieutenant

Laurens County is accepting applications for a full-time Lieutenant. Under limited supervision, supervises and maintains the operational readiness of EMS units on assigned shift. Work involves supervising subordinate staff, providing pre-hospital care to the critically injured or ill within the parameters of license/certification, preparing and maintaining EMS records and reports as required, and performing related work as assigned. Reports to the EMS Captain.

Minimum training and experience: Requires an Associate’s degree or equivalent obtained at a two-year college or technical school in emergency medical service supplemented by five years of emergency medical service experience; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities. Must possess S.C. EMT-Paramedic certification; Basic Life Support, Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support or Basic Trauma Life Support certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and CEVO. Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
