Finance Director

Laurens County is accepting applications for a full-time Finance Director. The desired candidate will Under limited supervision, plans, organizes and directs all fiscal operations for Laurens County government. Work involves supervising department staff and performing highly complex managerial and strategic work in the areas of fiscal policy management, accounting management, budget administration, auditing, financial reporting and records maintenance, and other functions as assigned. Reports to the County Administrator.

Minimum Training and Experience: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or other relevant field supplemented by four to five years of financial management experience, preferably in the government sector; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities. CPA License preferred. Must possess a valid state driver’s license.

The successful applicant is required to pass pre-employment background check, drug testing, and are subject to random testing. Compensation includes salary and a full health, retirement, vacation, sick leave and benefits package.
