Laurens County Human Resources is accepting applications for a full-time Judicial Assistant int the office of the Probate Judge. The individual selected for this position will work under the direct supervision of the Probate Judge. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Performs secretarial and clerical duties in support of the efficient and effective operations of Probate Court, ensuring compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, laws and regulations. Reviews documents filed with the court for compliance with filing requirements and appropriate filing fees; assigns case numbers; establishes case files; enters case information and records into automated case management system; indexes documents for public records. Composes, prepares and/or types various letters of correspondence, memos, summonses, judgments, and other court documents as necessary for proper case management and disposition. Assesses, receives, receipts and processes various court fees, fines and other payments; Posts to proper accounts, and performs other financial/accounting duties as necessary.
Requirements: Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent with six months to one year of experience in clerical or secretarial work; or any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Proficiency in computer skills required
