Laurens County Human Resources is accepting applications for the Solid Waste Department. Available positions are Rural Waste Collection and Recycling Site Attendants. We have openings for both site attendants and rover (fill in) site attendants. The attendant positions work part time hours on a varied schedule of no more than 29.5 hours per week. The rover attendants work on call to fill in for various box sites depending on departmental needs . The general duties include the following: Monitoring waste and recycling collections to assure only acceptable waste is received at our sites and that they are placed in the proper locations. Monitoring sites to assure only waste generated by Laurens County residential properties is delivered to our sites. Keeping the sites clean and tidy at all times. Applicants should be a minimum of 21 years old, have transportation to and from work, possess a pleasant personality and the ability to work well with the public, be in good physical condition, display a neat appearance and be reliable and trustworthy. Performs all duties in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and standards of quality and safety.
